I'm sure that few dragonflies are addicted to tobacco. But they sure land a lot on pipes of all kinds. We surmise that their compound eyes cause a misjudgment of the size of the chosen pipes. Just a wild guess.
In New England we have some very interesting ice storms. At times, they produce rather novel photo opportunities. I found this formation outside the door of our home, after taking a nice fall on the ice.
